Rich has substantial experience in developing, acquiring and enforcing patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret rights throughout the world, analyzing intellectual property rights, providing legal opinions, branding and design-alternative advisement, negotiating intellectual property transactions, and preparing purchase, licensing and distribution agreements. He has prepared and prosecuted patent applications disclosing a broad array of innovations in areas such as wagering games, gaming devices, downloadable applications, e-commerce platforms, Internet and software business methods, financial services systems and methods, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, mechanical and electromechanical devices, filtration systems, chemical processing, polymer manufacture, power generation, environmental "green" technology and fuel cells, among others.
Rich has served as an expert in matters of patent law and was formerly an in-house intellectual property counsel for a large company headquartered in Las Vegas where he was involved in handling worldwide intellectual property matters. As in-house counsel, Rich trained and supervised a patent agent team, managed and enhanced the internal invention submission program and related company policies and advised company executives on potential mergers and acquisitions.
Rich received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Manhattan College in 1994 and his J.D. from Pace University School of Law in 1999. He is a member of the State Bars of Nevada, New York and Connecticut. He is also admitted to the United States District Court for Nevada and registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
